It would look nice, but will the expense be worth the extra light and view?

Thanks for the reply. It would allow for a lot of extra light and open up the view quite a bit. We are putting a pool, bbq and fire pit in the backyard so it would open up to that. We love the look of the extra wide either french doors or the folding/accordion style doors with dark wood trim..

Get an estimate on the cost as it's going to require structural change to the house that are never cheap. If you can realistically afford it, go for it.

Did you go with 4 panel sliders? What was the cost of the doors? And what was the cost of the structural changes?

As much as you are creating additional living space outside - the larger doors would fit in perfectly - making the backyard look like an extension of the inside. Not to mention all that great light you'd be gaining.
