Beautiful kitchen - congrats! I have a friend who used Restoration Hardware's Strande 4" (not 3") pull in oil rubbed bronze. She also used their glass knobs in a few places. It is stunning and timeless. I know it's pricey, but something in that style would look great.

What about backsplash and wall color?

She kept her white walls and did white subway tiles. I think she did a gray grout, maybe white. She was tossing around also gray or black subway, which really is personal preference. She is pretty minimalistic and uses things on her counters to being color - fruit, red mixer, etc. I like your present wall color personally. I think with your dark floors and grayish walls, there is no contrast unless you find a darker shade but not too dark, and black won't work with the dark floors, countertop and island. I wouldn't use a color or mosaic. I would choose simple.

Hi Baseball - you have done a wonderful job on your kitchen reno so far. I agree 100% with the other advice about subway tile -- it is timeless and classic. Give the glass tiles some thought, we are loving it in our new construction homes right now. Also, consider adding decorative lighting to your kitchen. Pendants over the island can really add to the design and feel of your space. Good Luck!

Hi Baseball -- For wall color, I think Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray (top left) with a decorative tile (top right) or Carrara Subway (bottom left) would be beautiful. Love the pendant light idea posted by Nies Homes, or perhaps, something a little edgier in black metal to complement your counter tops.

Great kitchen! In regards to our first question regarding pulls, since the other hardware is silver based you will want to stay with the same. Something that would blend in nicely and not create too much shine would be Amerock Ambrosia Weathered Nickel Euro Stone Circle Knob - ( AME-05237 ). There are stylish and not flashy plus they won't break the bank.

Because the room is very monochromatic the subway tile is a nice choice. Pops of color can be added with accessories and be changed easily without a lot of expense or use of contractors.

As far as paint color, try a beautiful tan color. These will keep it fresh and add some earth tones to warm the room. One color that might work would be Kelly Moore sand pebble #171.

Try some brown handles for the cabinets.

When I consider adding pops of color I try to do it things that can easily be replaced such as paint, accessories, throw rug, curtains, towels. If you keep the rest classically neutral you can change the room with out a lot of investment in a few years. I like the idea of darker cabinet handles to work with your countertops. I think the glass backsplash would be lovely.

baseball... Revere Pewter is a great color too. If you want a soft look, try Benjamin Moore Abalone 2108-60. It's also a little lighter than Edgecomb Gray and Revere Pewter, which would contrast beautifully with your dark floors, as in the photo example of the dining room below.

Christi I really like the Abalone BM wall color. I bought the Aura finish. I had to paint a section of kitchen wall to see if it works and it does. I'm still toying with the backsplash based upon the feedback I have been given. Also trying to decide between bronze and nickel hardware.

I have not decided on a back splash, I'm thinking the glass subway tile just uncertain of what color or just white. I want the kitchen to remain timeless.

People choose back splashes for a variety of reasons. Glass is easy to clean, particularly for cooking splatters. But if you're interested in a timeless look, you may want to consider gray limestone (top left), tumbled marble (top right) or Carrara marble (bottom photos). Just an idea...

Stay away from oil rubbed bronze. It will date the kitchen. Stick with polished nickel, stainless steel, or chrome for a timeless look, and keep the lines simple.
