If you are painting the wall green then nix the red. You might go light sage green with an accent wall a darker shade of green.

Green is the old color. It is going away.

You need to pick your furniture first, then a paint color.

In the past I've usually been in the position of already owning the furniture, area rug etc therefore have to choose a colour that will compliment those items. You, on the other hand, have what I would consider a dream ~ have fun with it! After you have purchased a couch, chair then perhaps you can get a painting, are rug THEN choose a wall colour that is both neutral & complimentary. (Leave the big, bold colours for less costly, interchangeable items like cushions). Have fun creating a cozy haven for yourself!

Decided to not do an accent wall as I love the paint color way too much. It accents very nice with the gold oak trim.
