You certainly could, with either dark or light accompanying it, as well as good lighting. Copper, greys, periwinkle, navy blue would all look well with it.

I myself prefer darker colors, as light neutral colors look bland. There a few things to keep in mind if you are going with darker countertops and cabinets. First, and I assume you were going to do this along with the countertops and cabinets, don't mix colors. In other words try to find items such as your faucets, tub faucets, shower showerheads, etc that will match. Dont look for a perfect match, but close enough to the colors that you are going to be using for your countertops and cabinets. Next the tile. You don't necessarily want white tile with a darker counter top. The key thing is laying your tile, depending upon how you lay the tile, diamond, square, etc. Will make your room seem smaller or larger, the larger the tile the bigger the room seems. The downside to darker colors, are that they make areas, just as it does people look smaller. Better yet seem smaller. I hope I was able to help. Good luck!

Dark cabinets walnut or dark gray would work. Do you have photos of space?

I have something similar going into my powder room, about the same granite, and we have added an oval undermount hammered copper sink, with a black faucet. In order to break up all the dark colors,we are going with ivory cabinets and woodwork, and a wall color in rust or bittersweet.

What colors do you like? Maybe add dark hardware to coordinate with the dark countertop? Something bold? Sometimes in a bathroom you can let yourself do more dramatic color combinations.
