So.. I am thinking about painting the cabinets black and distressing them to define the kitchen area. It's too much grainy wood for me. I like rustic cottage, but definitely not country!! I need a creative way to make an eating area.. an island with bar stools?? Would love to utilize the space under the stairs somehow.. Help please??? PS.. see those ugly chrome light fixtures?? They are coming out ASAP!! Who does that?? YUCK!
