Pendant lights over island.

I have two rows of recessed lights with a row of pendants lights in the middle. Should the island be centered with the pendants or would it be better if they shine over the workspace? I'll try to get some pics.

Center the island under the pendants

Have the pendants project over the workspace

HI -- You don't have to have pendant lights - you could have a nice clean look with nothing hanging down. Just all pot lights is a great look too.

I would have one large something or a group of pendants but I would have something to anchor it down and provide lots of light there. I didn't get my light exactly in the middle of the island and it is ok but I would give thought to it. I like the dark island you chose with the white cabinets. It looks really nice!

Thanks for your input. I do like the idea of only having recessed cans but I found these pendants that I just love! There will be one over the sink and 3 going down the middle of the room. The spacing on the ceiling is perfect so the island will be what shifts. It's hard to tell with the primer that is up but the cabinets are actually limestone which is just a really light gray and the cabinets are a really dark brown. @pauli, I love your open concept and your choice of window/door trim!
