We opened up the walls and added steel to support the weight of the hanging benches.

It sounds like a difficult thing to do. I can build it, but probably won't be able to figure out how to attach it without professional help. I do love it. I will have to figure something else out. Thanks for responding so soon.

My drywall isn't put up in the basement. But my husband isn't that good with woodworking. Can you buy the floating benches? How do you fasten the steel to the studs inside the wall?
