I have to agree. I think the grout color looks very good in the photo as it picks up the lightest shade in the tile.

You might be over-thinking your grout color. It looks really good. If blends with the stone nicely. Grout always darkens over time.

In my opinion: I totally agree. Darker grout in a shade darker than your tiles will make it look like there is dirt stuck between your tiles and give the perception that the floor is not clean. Darker Grout the Same shade as the tiles will give the impression that you have a monolithic floor like the cheap vinyl sheets that they use in bowling alleys. There will be no definition between each tile which defeats the reason why we use real tiles to demonstrate better quality, wealth, and craftsmanship.

To answer your question:
There are stains that you can use for grout but again it can stain unevenly and make your floor look old and dirty. These stains are only good if you need a weathered look, and best used for lite duty like on walls where it will not wear off. But The best way to get a darker shade is to grind the grout out and replace it with fresh grout. That would be a lot of work to make it look dirty.

The grout looks perfect to me! We have those same tiles and our grout is that color. I would live with it for awhile and if you are still dissatisfied, you can always grind it out and replace with a darker grout-a tedious process. If you go darker, your floors may look dirty. I think it looks fresh and clean and the grout color is perfect. Will send a picture later from home.

Hi B Roz, Here is a picture of our travertine tile. It's actually in a bathroom; not the kitchen. And my grout is dirty bc we have had in for a few years. Now that I'm looking closely at your picture, I'm not sure if it's the same....Yours looks like travertine. Is it? Well, it's very pretty. What are you thinking about for your counters and cabinets? This floor is Graal Monocibic Sinclair - ( porcelain) . I'm not sure what Granite I will go with any suggestions are welcome

Whatever you do, definitely bring home samples and see the slabs in person. They vary greatly, even with the same name. :) Are you looking to go dark or light?

Don't worry. It will darken up as it gets dirty from use.

Yes , not sure thinking lighter counters, but I been thinking about a different color on the island on either the base or counter .., idk yet though . Hoping to figure it out soon

The grout is competing with the blue(ish) counter tops...and that appears to be the "grout issue". The grout looks perfect (in colour, etc) UNTIL you view it together with the blue counter top. If you change out the counter top to something that is "warmer" I think you are going to feel better about the grout. Right now the two are arguing and your eyes are getting caught in the middle.

Personally I would love to see a green soap stone or slate here. The green would work well with the cabinet colours and should be warm enough to work with the tiles without getting "pink over kill". Obviously a blue counter top isn't working so I would stay away from the blue/black stones.

Agree that a stone that has greens in it will work best with your existing cabinets and flooring. I think you need to bring you floor tile when searching for a slab of granite.

I would keep the grout colour !! It looks great. Using a different colour can make it look dingy. I made that mist ag before

Sienna Bordeaux granite could be a pretty stone for your kitchen as well. I think it might work well with both your existing oak cabinets and floors.

It's a huge job and expense. Just wait. It won't be light for long. It looks fine. Once furn and area rugs are in. You won't notice.

Granite above is Very nice. You might try a travertine backsplash. To tie it together.

If you do a granite similar to the sienna bordeaux, I would do a cream ceramic subway backsplash to compliment the flooring but not match perfectly.

I think it works fine with your floor-it seems to have lots of gold/yellow in it if that's what you are aiming for. Be sure to go look at all the individual slabs-they can be very different.

I really like the Sienna Bordeaux that Karen Dumont posted. I do see some green in your tile but not as much as in the slab that you just posted. I preferred the first one you posted better.

I really like this one B Roz. I like that it has some reds and golds, but it also has some grays in it. I think you need some cool colors mixed in with all your warm tones. Do you have sample of your floor tile to bring to place up against the slab to see how your floors work with it?

I like this granite that says Amarone dark I would like to find out what the actual name of it is?..they do not have it in stock anymore, and I'm sure it's going to vary, but there has to be another name for it. Does anyone know what it is and do you like this color too?

That's the actual name of it. Google that name, and you will find a bunch of pictures of the stone. I think it has lots of black and whites in it. I really liked the slab you posted in a picture a few days ago. Did you bring your tile to the stone yard to see how they worked together?

That Amarone Dark looks like one that I have in one of my bathrooms. It has been in about a 2 years. It works nicely with warm wood tones. It is typically a darker granite though with big variations between slabs.

I have a appointment on Saturday - so hopefully I will find the right one- will keep you posted - I think I also like a few in the bordeux lines like maybe seirra , Neptuno, Typhoon - they said they have it plus, are getting new stuff in tomorrow!
