Tell us more about this hallway.......is it part of your foyer or just leads to other rooms.....which rooms?

I would worry about a mirror getting bumped and knocked off and broken in such a confined space.

Such a great long hallway! Would you ever consider doing s gallery wall? You could either put the frames in more of a conservative grid or do a mix match pattern. Best of luck!

    @suzzane
I have been looking for wall decal with "namaste" with folded hands
We are from india so thought it will be good personal touch.

Why not? if you like it... it's neutral...if I were to walk on it I might purr loudly. :)

I'm sorry, but the rug really doesn't look right. I think it's way too short. I feel that it should run the length of the hallway. There are so many rugs out there, especially from India..or lookalikes...they are just beautiful with all there beautiful colours.
Maybe purchase one that can relate in colours in your rooms at each end.
    Best of luck.

would you consider this an area to hang your children's art on a rotating basis
    (doesn't cost much :-)
    Also, assuming you have children....

I rather like the runner......great price, too. Tie it in with a dark color on what you choose to do on the wall now.

Looking at the runner again and see the lighter color/shade is the same as the stairway carpet. Nice!

Now for some black on the walls.

What do you experts think of these frames . Put on wall in along with mirrors in gaps.
@abbie runner has dark brown shade similar to these frames I have in house.

There's your black with a bit of color, too....and maybe even some yellow in the butterfly? Thing is, are they large enough to not look dwarfed on the wall?

    Consider going dramatic with paint.

grover, I can get over how impressed I am you can keep all the variations in lighting when you do a photoshop. You explained it to me before but I was pretty new at photoshop at the time, I did not completely understand. Do you mind explain it to me again?

Can you make templates of the items in the boxes and tape them to the wall in the arrangment you are thinking and let us see how it looks? And then you would also get a feel for if it fits. Use newspaper of a shopping bag or two.

If you are trying give a nod to your Indian heritage how about a sari, either cut in half or folded in half and hung like a quilt. Or a Banjara embroidered wall hanging.
Thanks all for your input . This is what I am thinking of doing . Paint the wall like Grover said with dramatic color. Then add picture Galary as lot of you suggested . Galary theme will be travel. We have travelled to various places over years and I have collected post cards from most. Make A frame with post card and one picture from this location. We will have world map Decal In center . With US and india with different colors to highlight homes . Picture frames will be surrounding map . What do you guys think ?

    Sounds like an interesting concept.
    good luck and have fun!

On the opposite wall , should I add places where we want to go Gallary ? With post card ordered online and empty place for picture .

Or it will be overkill :)

@suzanne_m, when I paint a room, I simply take the original color and manipulate it using one or both of two tools, the Adjust Hue/Saturation or Color Variations tool. That way you can keep the shadows and highlights, even boost them a bit, if you need to. Hope this helps.

So very nice! And one of my favorite quotes from Dr. Seuss!!!

I love that you put no space between the frames. Very different! Well done!

Very nice. Love the quote, and the lettering looks like it came direct from the book. Good work!
