Our store is not so large and I don't think their prices are that great. I have a friend who is a vol. there. I think he works a couple of days a week.

Emagineer-- where in CO? I love the Colorado Springs store and I know they got old door hardware not too long ago. I built my kitchen island completely from ReStore components. I was thinking of volunteering myself but don't have much time-- I work 2 jobs.

Am in the Springs also. The store has really gotten a lot of new stuff recently. Think a lot of things coming in were from the big stores changing over to new inventory. And yes, the old door hardware, but not a lot. I saw a dozen old doors come through with beautiful glass knobs on them. They took these off, were gone in a couple of days.

The store here must be much better stocked than in some other areas, perhaps because it is the only one in this part of CO. I've been pretty good about not getting junk, a few new items which were needed and definitely saved money. One of the things that did get me in a bit of a jam was a shed. They had about a dozen which were used for training volunteers on framing. I could't have bought the wood for half the price of what was in them. The jam I got into was not knowing sides, floor and roof were already framed in 2X4s. Had to find some big guys to move the components home for me.

I heard that we were going to have a HforH store open up here, but have heard nothing else since then. Keep us posted on your finds.

I live near High Point NC and the Habitat store there has brand new furniture from all the furniture manufacturers in the area, and they also carry brand new kitchen cabinets donated from the local cabinetmakers. It's a great place to get some bargains, but I think that the prices they start out asking are kind of high, so I wait until they've started marking the stuff down. (They also have a huge selection of upholstery fabrics)

Interesting how the different stores are stocked. We have yards of new carpet and lumber, plus new doors/windows. They have catalogs from most of the donating stores for pricing of newer/unused items and go 40% of full price depending upon active resale. Although right now you can pick up bath sinks/tubs/toilets for a song....in every color of the rainbow. There are dozens from a plumbing store that went out of business.
