Yes. It is meant to be grown outdoors now. It needs sun, basically.

no i meant specifically... i dont think the light is a problem, i am also growing many other 'outdoor' plants, E.g. cayenne peppers, rosemary, basil(3 types), morning glory and oregano in the same place all are thriving but the sunflowers.

currently i have then in 1 gallon pots with pro-mix @ approx 7 weeks of age, 18hrs of HID light/day,avg day temp is 19C, and i am keeping the substrate on the lean/moist side.

any more suggestions?

Perhaps it does need a bit of food, now. Have you fed it lately? I still think that it needs natural light and also perhaps to be kept drier. They like moisture when very young, but most of those types of flowers appreciate some dry soil, too.

ok well i figured out what the problem was... i should have transplanted them into 3 gal. pots ohh maybe 2 weeks ago... they are totally root bound. :(

ohh well , live and learn. i guess i shouldnt expect everything to go perfect for my first time growing anyhow.

From your information I never would have guessed that!

Not exactly. I meant that I would never have guessed that they needed to be potted up to the next size; but I usually grow mine outside anyway and did not know how large the plants really are. It is hard to tell from the picture. Mexican sunflowers ususally grow like weeds with very little.
