If they've contacted you, at least you know they are listening. Perhaps the person doesn't know how to change thier e-mail options to recieve message - in which case they may not know you want them to create a new posting. Maybe you should go to the original post just to ask the original poster to make a new thread.

I don't need them to listen at all. They want answers, but don't have the courtesy of giving me a way to help. I'm not resurrecting a 6 mo. old post to do it.

Valid point about starting a new thread, but so much anger?

Sorry... I have a habit of wrting short things without realizing they could come across as sounding that way (but weren't meant to). The thing is, I suddenly got the e-mail out of nowhere, vaguely remembered what it had been about, went to try to answer anyway, and discovered I couldn't, and was just put off that someone was expected to hunt through pages of old stuff to find an old posting (that the orig. poster hadn't managed to answer in so long), and then (as far as anyone else was concerned) suddenly have it pop up on last wk's forum with an answer (to the e-mail) that would have been out of context unless I reprinted the e-mail as well. It all just seemed inconsiderate at best. I am going to have to stop writing such short notes though, if they're coming across that way!
