Well, if it's for the front of the house, the most important consideration IMO is making sure the flowers coordinate with the color of the house. In the back, though, I'm looking *out* at it, I see the flowers against the backdrop of the rest of the yard/green, not the house.

My favorite combination is Super Elfin Blue Pearl with White.

The soft colors would never show up against the front of my house, though, I have a white house (a blindingly white house, unfortunately). So in the front I do "hot" colors (fuscia, hot pink).

The siding is beige with white trim. What do you think would look best?i

How about that darkish red? I think that's always striking with beige.

IMO if the house is beige with white trim, you need a good pop of color - red, hot pink/fuscia. Orange may work if a deeper orange. Yellow won't show up that well even if bright yellow against a beige house. Soft colors or light colors just won't stand out nor will white, though you can throw in a couple white as accent in a planting.

Hallelujah! People matching colors to their houses! I'm not alone! Though I often think I am alone, when I drive through MY neighborhood. DH thinks I have a strange obsession, hearing every year; "Nothing yellow in front of the house," "Nothing yellow in front of the house," repeatedly.

My house has a combo of brick colors; very hard to find anything that goes well. It's a dark brick red, burgundy cast, with various bricks tinted with a sandy overlay and a dark charcoal grey-black overlay. Trim is greyed down Williamsburg blue. I've been doing very dark cool reds, but am in a rut.

I agree with the other posters: a good pop of color is what you need! I would pick something in either the fuscia range or the dark orange range. Fuscia would be easier, more choices to find. Orange would be harder, though there are peachy-salmon impatiens, I haven't seen any that would be dark enough to make a good contrast with the beige.
