Well, I wiped the cobwebs off my potato... guess, I'll just see if it roots - if anything, it'll be a good experiment.

Anything sprouting yet?

I kept the tubers of blackie and tri colored sweet potato vine In bags of peat moss this year. Im planting them in pots with potting soil and they should sprout with warmth and water.(and a grow light) Ive kept them over in pots of dirt before in the basement and brought them back. Hopefully they will be planting size by June. I also have a bag of regular sweet potatoes
from last years garden that Im going to try to sprout. I love the look of the folage.

ggg, thanks for asking (lol) - actually, no, there are no signs of sprouts, yet. I can't 'see' any eyes, either.

boop, I'll try planting mine in potting soil, too, then. I'm having absolutely no luck with the water. I love the look of the foliage, also. Thank you, too.

I planted out a tuber last year, and it sprouted into a wonderful, full plant. And also, tip cuttings root in the twinkling of an eye (seems like it!).

merrygardens is right ~they root easily. I have taken cuttings and placed the ends in a vase of water with excellent success. In fact, today I bought some Blackie and Margarite for $1 each. They are alittle leggy but I plan on taking cuttings and should have several plants within a few weeks.

Merrygardens, I've had great luck with rooting the cuttings, too, but I don't seem to have the same luck with the tuber. I really can't even see a single eye.

ggg - that's the best way to get the best bang for your buck - buy a couple of plants that root easily and take cuttings. I think I might try the blackie this year, too.
