I just took the last of mine out. I have been saving them to dry out enough to capture a few seeds. I consider them a spring annual in full sun. No problem getting blooms but they don't like the heat come summer. Maybe yours don't get enough sun?

Peggie they get Morning Shade and Afternoon Full Blast Sun. It might be too much nitrogen.

It might be. My hobby is zinnias, and they have a higher appetite for nitrogen than some plants, so I feed them Miracle-Gro Tomato Food in the garden. I also grow some zinnias indoors in sterile growing media (Premier ProMix BX) where urea is not a helpful form of nitrogen, so I use Better-Gro Orchid Bloom Booster for my blooming indoor zinnias. It has a high phosphorous 11-35-15 formula which is suitable for blooming plants. It also contains needed minor trace elements. It is completely soluble and you dilute it one teaspoon per gallon for frequent feeding or one tablespoon per gallon for occasional feeding, so a package of it goes a long way. I usually get it locally from Lowe's Home stores, but you can get it online from multiple sources, including Amazon. I also use their Better-Gro Orchid Plus formula to start my zinnias indoors, because it, too, is urea free. I treat my zinnias a little like orchids, and they seem to appreciate it. I think your snapdragons (and roses) might like being babied like orchids, too.

I planted Snapdragons last October here in the Napa Valley and they are still blooming. I do not use fertilizer of any kind, but do compost the soil when plants are removed, before planting the next flowers. This planting bed faces east,and a asphalt parking lot. During the summer, here where it only rains in the winter, I water this bed with mini sprinklers, three times per week. I will be removing the snaps soon in favor of a more heat tolerant plant such as Lantana. Al

Stop pinching! Yes, it makes them branch, but it also delays the bloom. If you want a short, bushy Snap, you should buy one that is specifically bred to be short & bushy. The Montego series is the most popular. There are also mid-height varieties like Liberty and Sonnet. Snaps also need long days to initiate bloom (which we certainly have now), but also prefer cooler temps.

Thanks Everyone. I will implicate all this good advice. Except for the pinching, I still have Snap's with one stem. But, I will slow my roll on that. I like large plants.
