let them dry out.. the damage i mean.. for a week or so ... to find out what is really damaged.. and then start nipping off the worst ..

your base problem right now.. is you dont know what is viable.. and what is terminal ...

so give them a little time.. to show you what to remove ...

its happened too many time in my hosta beds.. and i used to run out there.. and cause more problems.. than just leaving them

Agreed, good advice. I might check today for any pieces that are wilting, snapped off, while they could still likely be propagated. Leaves still firmly attached, even with holes, are likely still serving the plant so I wouldn't be in a hurry to remove those unless there are many others. So sorry you got pelted!! We all have nightmares about that.
