Container Spring Bulbs

Howdy

I bought a ton of bulbs this year to plant in the fall and didn't realize I had a squirrel problem. So I saved all my tulips and crocus for container plantings vs. losing them to squirrel feed. Haven't tried this before but it seems to be going well...maybe too well. I have several pots in my garage 10" in and heigher. My garage is detached and not insulated. But obviously it does stay warmer then outside temps by about 10-15 degrees. So it's end of Feb now and I'm noticing some bulbs pushing up through the soil (about 1/2 inch right now is all) This seems a bit early to me as I was just reading online that the last freeze here is around mid April (although we've been above freezing here for awhile now) My question is a two-parter. If I want to slow down their progress can I move them outside or are they too far past a point now where they can be slowed. I would give them adequate shelter and insulation. Other question, so I know squirrels eat some bulbs but is that BEFORE they are sprouted or will they still eat my sprouting bulbs if I put them outside now.

Thanks so much

Curtis
