Couldn't get into the original posts to express my Thanks! for the info on the distressed Vincas. When it dries up a bit from yesterday's 1"+ of rain, I'll work in that mulch and hoe around to loosen up the clay some more---try to get them better drainage.

Nothing other than grass and weeds had ever been planted along this fence until I started the garden last year. There's a whole lot of 'amending' to do to get the clay in condition to support thriving plants, for sure. Hope I'm not too late in the season to give the annuals a chance to put on their show!
