did you dead head them? if they make seeds they will stop blooming.

Even with deadheading mine stop blooming when it gets too warm. Here in northern California we start sweet peas in October to get the blooming early enough in the year to get the most bloom before the heat stops them. Al

Well, thank you for the ideas. I may start them end of January next year to get them going by May.

Think about growing peas as vegetables: they are spring plants. Plant pea seeds here in Z5 in the ground March 15, or St. Patrick's Day. Same with sweet peas. Like with pansies, they are very particular about temp, rainfall, humidity. Some years, it's just right and the blooming period is prolonged, and other years, if one seed pod forms, goodbye to the flowers/plants. Mine have lasted longest in cool, moist but not drowned, sunny summers. This year, everything is a month late, since summer weather was a month later than normal. The pansies and sweet peas thrived.
