Anemone 'Aurora'
Hello
I am new to planting bulbs and this is my first year forcing an amaryllis, which I have in the refrigerator right now. A friend just returned from Ireland with an anemone "Aurora" bulb which according to the picture directions should be planted out now. I live in Alaska and we are having frost temps as I write this. Can this bulb be taken care of like an amaryllis and potted up to bloom later , like in the spring? I don't think this bulb will make the winter in this 3/4 zone (long winter). Also, is anyone familiar with this type? It is a very large bulb, 9" in diameter...looks like a white turnip. There are very brief instructions in English on how to plant in the ground but not any info on taking care of it. The company name on the package is "Jub".
Thanks so much,
Sue
