Raised beds. Year two.

Last year I expanded my in-ground garden by building six 8'x 3'x 1 1/2' raised cedar beds on a large old concrete slab that forms the top of an old carport. I filled them with a really rich container mix from the Vermont Compost Company. Everything did great. I'm wondering what I should do to the soil for this the second year. Do I remove some of the soil and replace it? Enrich what's there? What should I add?

Has your potting mix begun to settle? What do you do for drainage if it's sitting on a concrete lab? I'd probably just layer some more compost on top and top it with some straw mulch and plant away come spring. Then in fall, if you leave your beds for the winter you can sow some winter nitrogen fixers or some other "green manure" that will hold the soil in the off season and be tilled or mulched back into it come spring.
