Jody, If you have a well lighted window you can carry over the repotted tubers as vines indoors. I water lightly..if they get too dry they lose leaves but resprout. If kept too moist the tuber will rot so I lean to the drier regimen.

I've also taken cuttings of the vine about 12 inches long, stripped bottom leaves, and carried over in a vase of water...just keep water topped up.

Never tried carrying over the unpotted tubers so have no advice on that method. josh

You will have to do some searching on the other forums here (vines is one that comes to mind) because I remember coming across a few threads discussing storing of the tubers and growing the vines indoors over winter. I had several big tubers last year but in my zone our winter is so long they eventually dried up and didn't sprout in the spring. The cuttings I'd taken progressively deteriorated and looked so bad amongst my houseplants that I ditched those also. But they are so cheap to buy in the spring, and if you take a cutting right away it roots within 2 or 3 days and you've doubled your plant numbers. Good Luck.

I have a couple of pots with them that I bring in the house in the fall, mostly because the pots have geraniums and giant spikes in them too that I want to save. They drop a fair number of leaves over winter but then when I put them out in spring they take off fast. These ones have made this trip 3 years now. The tubers are HUGE. I have never had luck with cuttings of them. The ones planted in the garden soil outside have gotten really big. If I had space I'd try potting them and bringing them in too.
