Annual for zone 5, perennial for zone 8 I think. Leave it, Mary because it may seed.

I've had blue bedders return rather faithfully in zone five/six cusp.

I haven't re-planted Blue Bedder for 3 years. It is an annual here but even with collecting cupfuls of seeds, they re-seed like crazy. My patch is about 3'x 5' and growing larger every year. It is easy to pull out the seedlings you don't want but I happen to like it a lot and let my patch grow pretty much where it wants to grow.

Wow this is cool. I hope mine reseed. I just love the stuff. I bet your patch is very pretty where it is growing.

I didn't think it was going to come back but probably about mid spring some did on the wood(?) three from last year out of 12 plants. I found one that had reseeded in a different part of garden...I had WS in 2004(5). Couldn't find the seeds in the store this year, I think it was a MS brand. If you had any stems broken off you could also propagate them from those, which I did cos our rambuntious puppies had run through them and broke off two stem. They did take...I didn't want to give up on them...they are just tooo beautiful...
