Mammoth Sunflowers done -- what to do with them?

14 years ago

I dug up the Mammoth sunflowers today to make room for cool-season edibles. My gosh, it was like lifting giant sequoias! Anyway.... now what do I do with the huge stems (trunks?) that are 7-8 feet tall (or that long, now that they're lying on the ground). They're all piled up on the same bed where they were growing.
