Thank you both-the Nico is a must! I saved seeds from Nico Only the Lonely last year and would love to see the two together-especially because the latter has lime-green foilage.

Haven't decided on any new annuals, yet. Been working on Perennials and bulbs alot this last year.

I have this irritating habit of wanting to get more for what I pay for (meaning starting from seed for me).

Annuals are a wonderful way to begin with for what will 'be new to/or fave for me', otherwise its the same since I began 4 yrs ago (and some of those are now challeng today, I can't figure?!!!... ;) )

I am always trying cosmos and zinnias -I'll throw in another vote for double click cosmos, zowie wowie zinnias look nice also - I had some that looked like that last year, but I didn't save the seeds :(

There's a seed strain of Angelonia available this year called "Serena." Parks, Jung, Swallowtail are carrying it. Also a new zinnia 'Uproar Rose' that looks promising. I hadn't noticed the Doubleclick Cosmos in the catalogues, so thanks to all who pointed that out!

Will be new to me this year:

* Trachelium
* Martha Washington geranium (still debating but will probably order a plant or two from Select Seeds)

That's it for right now, though of course subject to change - seed packets have a way of jumping into my cart before I even realize it...

I think Victoria Sunset Calendula from Veseys Seeds looks interesting.

Well I manage to get some Double Click Cosmos for this year!

summerday, 'Victoria Sunset' came out last year but of course I didn't get any because they were sold out, this year I was able to get tons of collected seed from a wonderful friend, just hoping they will come true from seed or come close to being true ;)

Hello Sharon! Long time no talk!

I recognize many new items listed here. I just gotta tell you Sharon (and everyone else) that you will not be dissapointed one bit with your Magellan zinnias! OMG, last year, mine were loaded with blooms for 4 months streight. I had the Coral and the Ivory, and they were like shrubs all season long! This year, I have ordered every color available. I will post a photo of the Coral zinnias.

I am also growing:

Ornamental Millet 'Jester'
Angelonia 'Serena' mixture
Celosia 'Fresh Look Orange'
Many different Capsicum (Ornamental Peppers)

I also want to try the Double Click Cosmos as well as the Cherry Rose Hybrid Sunflowers.

Love to talk "new stuff", though, does anyone else feel that there wasnt a whole lot of exciting offerings this year? Oh well, there is still plenty of new stuff from 2005 that I hadnt tried yet, so I am satisfied!

I had to review posting photos, it has been a while. Just wanted to share! Magellan zinnias are the best! The blooms are the size your hand and they hang on for months, I kid you not. You will love them! You should have seen these when those 'Fresh Look' celosia behind them were in full bloom. This was a display bed enclosing my vegtable garden (on the west side), that is why it looks so "formal" and streight.

I am also going to have to try the double click cosmos. I hope the flowers aren't too little, though. Also, the perfume deep purple nicotiana. I noticed a post mentioning apricot trifle nasturtiums and swizzle zinnias. I tried them last year, I liked them both very much. The nasturtiums aren't as "pink" looking as the catalogs would have you believe, but they were a very pretty pinkish peach. The swizzle zinnias were nice too, big flowers on compact plants.

Well Ellen, I did manage to find some Cherry Rose Sunflowers here in Canada! Thanks for recommending them!

You would swear it is only a few weeks away here in Missouri. My pear tree is trying to bloom and many trees have already budded out. And I swear that I saw some red buds with their purple "glow" as I was driving by. With it only being the end of January, it is likely to be a not very pretty spring this year.

Sharon, I have never grown these or any sunflowers before, but I have several catalogs that has some absolutely tempting varieties. I think those Cherry Rose ones are the tall ones.

Sharon, I missed any photo postings you may have done for 2005. I always love your photos, did you post any? I would love a link!
