Beautiful job! Are the floors here the same red oak as the kitchen and did you stain the rails a darker color?

    Floors are white oak- quatersawn. No red oak anywhere. All stained minwax 50 percent Jacobean and 50 percent ebony. Poly by Absco brand in satin

      Elllsworth11 - Thank you so much for sharing this information. Just to be clear, the quatersawn that you did was to reduce the amount of grains and knobs? I am struggling with what wood to use right now as I don't really like the grainyness of White Oak, but I know it takes to stain really well. I actually was just told about a mix of Jacobean, ebony and walnut, but I almost think I like yours better.. By chance do you have any other photos of the flooring that don't have a big light reflection so i can see it's true color? I know this is alot to ask but it would be ever so helpful. (My flooring guys were supposed to start installing next week and I told them to stop because I freaked out!). Thanks again. - Sierra
