If you have a high ceiling, you could use the pine flooring for a matchstick ceiling in your living room or great room, with beams following the length of your living area, then add shorter crossbeams if you'd like, depending on the look you want.

You could clean it with Murphy's Oil Soap, let it dry and use the wood as-is, or sand it all down and re-stain/seal it whatever color you'd like. If it's not a wood grain that you like, or there are significant stains, you can always paint over it. I personally would go for the more rustic look and just clean the wood and be done with it.

You could use what's left to add some detail in adjoining rooms - panel a "focus" wall, add some interest around doors or above windows, etc. You could mimic the matchstick design, or whatever design you choose.

If you decide you don't want the lumber, let me know - we'll come get it and put it on our ceiling!

We just finished putting reclaimed hardwood floor up on our ceilings & will be painting it. We LOVE the look and ended up doing half the house with wood ceilings. Also in our remodel while pulling down cracked plaster and lath on the main level ceilings, discovered beautiful thick hardwood floor joists and the exposed wood floor above. So in the liv, dining room and craft room we're going to clean 'em up and put tung oil on them (all natural low fumes).
