Do white kitchen cabinets need to match white trim?

I want to do a white kitchen and have seen pictures I like in Ben Moore Linen White and Bone White. The trim throughout my house is Decorator White, however, and I can't see having different trim in the kitchen or repainting all the house trim. Do I need to stick with Decorator White for the cabinets, or can I go with something creamier?

I should have added that I have golden oak hardwood floors and plan to use a gold granite. It is a very big and open kitchen, and I am after a traditional/somewhat farmhouse feel. Thanks.

A few years ago, I painted the kitchen cabinets a bright white, while I painted the trim throughout the house in a soft cream white. It drove me nuts, and I eventually repainted the kitchen cabinets in the same color as the trim. I think you can use different whites for cabinets and trim, as long as they compliment each other.

With white cabinets, I would match the trim, at least in the kitchen. It could vary slightly in adjacent rooms.
