A lot of people don't post photos of their gardens or portfolio of work, particularly those who are professional designers, because of this website's policies. Photos posted here can be used by iVillage for their own purposes at will, for profit, forever, in any way they want to. Same goes for anything you post here.

I suggest you pick up a copy of the book "Gardens of Obsession" by Gordon Taylor. Wonderful photos and text!

ok well i did not know that. but how about just describing them a bit. or maybe talking about what, if you were given completely free reign to create a garden of your wildest fantasy, without having to worry about the environment, etc etc... what would it be like?

Hi dickensb,

Mardy Darian's garden in Vista is pretty cool. It's on slightly more than three acres. I guess he's got it up for sale now. He's been growing rare palms and other stuff there for 45+ years now. It says on your profile that you have an LA rooftop garden...have you been to Lotusland, or the Huntington, or even the Mildred Mathias garden at UCLA? How about the Getty Museum? I was there about 10 years ago but the garden was extremely new. I'm curious how it's matured.

If you check out the link, just keep hitting NEXT...there are a lot of pics.
