Roots

Let me ask this question? How much root does a plant need? What is a root? And here is the big question? What kinds of roots are there? Could it be that in the darkness unseen are more different kinds roots then we imagine. Take hydroponics. The roots in water can easily grow 6' or more clogging pipes and fittings. But what if you can get the same benefit from a root 6" long. How about air roots? Roots that sit completely outside the medium. But are super charge because of the fast moving air flow over them? Or...or that large tap root that just about all plants develop? What if you donÂt need it because that job is taken by smaller roots. Well what you get is 6' tomato plants that thrive on just a few ounces of water a day. You get 7' Sweet corn growing out 2 liter bottles that donÂt need to be fertilized again. You get watermelons, cucumber and squash with vines half their normal length. You just wind them around the containers. You get a garden you can bring inside on chilly nights and plant pods that heat up in sunlight. In other words you get a growing season that reaches into December and starts in March for zone 6.
