I would also like some ideas for this.

I asked our local green organization (Green Calgary) if I could compost them, and they said that only if I could find out what exactly the waxy coating was made of would it be safe, and even then not to use that compost on the veggie garden.

Since the place that sold them couldn't even tell me where they were made (came from a distributor)I chose not to compost them. I was thinking of tearing them apart a little and using as a sort of mulch on the pathway in my ornamental garden.
