Alison, you need to take a chill pill! You keep posting this same message whenever someone tries to share a bargain they found with the group. These people are not selling anything.

It's one thing to try and sell something on here, it's quite another to alert like minded people of a good deal.

While joellenh does appear to actually be a real person sharing her glee at great finds, message boards such as these can quickly get taken over and ruined by spammers posing as such. That's why many boards have a zero tolerance policy about posting things like that: because it's impossible to tell if someone is sincerely sharing a great find or if it's a bot plastering ads.

While I haven't been on GW much since it was taken over by iVillage, here are some solutions I've seen people take in the past:

1) Have a dedicated thread(s) for posting links to great deals.

2) The sharer doesn't post a link or a lot of details, instead they post something like, "I found a great deal on Strawberry beds. If anyone is interested I'll post details."

3) The sharer posts it in a discussion after making several other posts engaging in conversation for awhile.

4) The sharer has a long history on the forum and is already known to it's members.

I have been a member of GardenWeb for several years. I was joellenwv, but recently changed my name due to a move to Oklahoma. I am somewhat active in the Oklahoma Garden forum. I am an extreme deal hunter, and am known on a couple of boards I am on for sniffing out bargains.

I'd love to see more posts of this type here. With 2 young kids (ages 2-4), most of my shopping is done online, and I would love to see really good deals on seeds, trees, gardening stuff, etc.

This will be my last post on this subject. I just wanted to review the bed for people who were interested.

The metal felt pretty flimsy and based on the fact that I didn't want to spend the time or money to fill up two, I doubled up the metal walls and used them all in one double thick bed.

I planted all 100 strawberries in the one bed. They will be crowded but should do fine. I haven't installed the dome frame or netting yet and don't know if I will or not.

Making the circles nice was a pain. It took me about an hour to put up and fill, and another half hour or so to plant. My husband was watching the kids, so it went fairly quickly without them "helping".

The sprinkler works GREAT and shoots well past the 6' bed and seems to cover evenly. And, I have a spare if this one breaks (from the second kit I bought).

Thanks for posting the deal. I just looked and it's now over. Back up to the $89 retail price. Bummer. I was hopping for some strawberries this year but was too late on building my bed. I thought this would be perfect. Too bad i missed it!

Love your garden by the way. It's beautiful!
