My husband, daughter and I have been raising 2 mallards all summer. They live outside in a fenced area, with a pool, a little house and a tree in the center. While we provide them with chick starter, they do forage for insects--they love snails! One of the ducks has started to fly a bit, they are great swimmers and clean themselves regularly.
Living in the Northeast Kingdom in VT means winter will be here before we know it and I want them to migrate. What do I need to do for them so they won't get stuck here for the winter?
