I'm having the same issues!! Do your look like this? Am I missing something in the soil?

It's the variety of cucumber. Nothing wrong with it. The dark green ones I grow are Marketmore and Straight Eight. That might be a pickling cucumber. You can eat it the same way as the others. Tastes the same to me.

That is a perfect pickling cuke. I like picklers for all uses.

Slicing cukes are dark green all over. I don't like them so well.

I can't tell you much about burpless cukes except that they are usually long and narrow with a thin, tender skin. I think they vary in color depending on variety.

Concur: Cucumbers come in many shades.Some are almost white. Bonnie sells may varieties. I expect you got caught with the name tag switching that is a common occurance in most nurseries.

My cucumbers of various varieties seem to produce light green fruit as pictured but only occasionally. It seems to relate to extreme heat and they do taste slightly worse, although still better than most store bought cukes. I am more knowledgable with peppers and tomatoes and grow my cukes with the same soil/ferts so it could definitely be a nutrient issue. They do like more water than tomatoes and as such I water them minimally because they are planted together. Not sure if slightly too little water might cause the light fruits.

I do not have any pickling cucumbers, I have Armenian Slicers, Burpless (which I LOVE, btw), and a couple other random large varieties. Mostly make greek salad and gazpacho so I am not in favor of pickling cukes, personally.

BTW, in the produce business, pickling cucumbers are called "Kirbys".

I prefer the pale ones, much sweeter. Typically they pickling cucumbers and are very tasty. They have a thinner skin than the dark green but usually more seeds. Yummy!

There are varieties that are pale groon, other than some pickling cuke. I have grown Korean cukes that are long(12"+), crooked and pale green. They are some of the better ones.

i haven’t been sure when to pick mine. To wait until they turn more green but I have this one which is darker on one side than the underside which is more white in color

That is the same one that I have in my garden they are pale green and white and very very bitter inside what is that cucumber called?

Mine are a very pale green... any ideas? My Marketmore are green.

I had zero luck growing any vining plantin a container even a potatoe size container. Cucs never did much. Distressed cuc's are likely your problem. Not enough room for roots IMO
