My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

I love this kitchen! Having stools on two sides of the island looks so cool in the picture but I wonder if two people sitting at the corner would crowd each other. Any thoughts?

      If you are sitting in the corner you will be a little crowded, but this room didn't have any more room to stretch in any direction

      How durable is the island countertop? I worry about water stains etc. I love the look!

      It is solid walnut. It is extremely durable. We treat it with a food safe oil. Water just bubbles up and wipes away. You can't stain it, some people are afraid to cut on it, but I like the character marks that cutting on the top makes. In the event that a large chunk gets taken out or a hot pan leaves a burn mark, you can just sand it down and re coat the top. It is a lifetime product

      My countertops are butcher block (not sure of the type of wood). They are in horrible condition right now but I am having them sanded and refinished in a few weeks. What food safe oil do you use to treat them and how often should that be done? Thanks.
