I'm trying to start some cuttings indoors. After one week, the white currant is starting to shed the brown shell and beginning to reveal the green color underneath. Does this mean that root development is starting or does this happen without roots? I have been misting as much as possible. I did not make a humidity dome or use any rooting hormone. Thanks!

I'm trying to multiply my outdoor Currants. Can I just cut and plant in the ground before they wake up? I remember reading that Currants root easily. Thanks!
