Are you supposed to remove the bottom leave s that touch the ground on pepper plants Like you do with tomatoes?

Not nearly as important since peppers are much less disease prone. Many times, those leaves turn into branches themselves. Only remove if they look damaged or are yellow.

There's actually a Tennessee forum and few of the pepper enthusiasts in the hot pepper forum are from your neck of the woods.

You're right though -- I've been spending too much time on GW lately and what works for gardening here in SoCal may not work in TN.

Yeah i know but not much being talked about in that forum. My hubby was just trying to talk me into moving out to California today. Some where around madesto i think that's how it spelled. He's a trucker in a stay at home mom. This garden is my new hobby.

Ughg! Modesto? Right in the middle of Central CA! HOT DRY! The town is ......OK
Great for hot weather gardening! Most of the CA crops are from that area!
The home are still affordable there, though! I live up north of San Francisco in the wine country, very pricey if you are buying now!
Actually, I shouldn't be dissing that area! It is close to so many California things!
You would be a couple of hours from all of these things....Yosemite, the Ca coast , San Francisco, the "real wine country" Sonoma County"LA area, skiing in several areas.
Now that I think of it......It's not such a bad place! LOL! IN Ca, cheap and close to a lot of places! Nancy

You sound just like him. Lol i live in a very small town in the middle of no where. The nearest walmart is 30 some miles away. Dollar general is thru most happen spot in town. I live on 29 acres surrounded by hills and we have a creek and pond. We have horses in a nice pasture. I don't want to move. He says he will make more but the cost of living is slot higher out there from what i understand.

Don't be afraid of messing up. Gardening is supposed to be fun- we all make mistakes (and come here to laugh about them). If you obsess on perfection, you won't achieve it and you won't be happy.
Probably the worst that will happen is something won't grow. The next worst is you will be so successful (zucchini) that you will have wheelbarrowfuls of produce.
