Miracle gro outdoor potting soils is a very poor choice, or anything like it. It is referred to as a soil-less growing media because it comprised mostly of organic matter. After a couple of years you would have a thick black pile of sludge that is compacted and completely void of any ability to hold oxygen. This then what is called muck, yes this is a real name for a type of soil, but even muck has mineral soil in it, just no or little oxygen.

Just get cheap regular mineral soil (which is actually called soil) and leave enough room to mix in 5% by volume of organic matter. This is only 3.33 cubic feet and now you have good soil that will last decades. Of course you need to mix in the organic matter every year you want to grow something in it. Cover the top with 1/2" to 1" MAX of compost and you got the perfect real soil, and not the fake soil-less stuff you will pay a lot for.

Yeah, i wasnt going to get miracle grow and i appreciate the reminder warning.

this is an elevated bed on legs so the gardening space is waist high.

You should of said it was raised, It's a game changer. It's a big long pot a lighter fill is better, so in that case a high-porosity mix that contains chunky stuff for drainage and that holds oxygen. I don't play with pots, but I'm sure others who do might drop by and give you some ideas.

ive been reading and thinking about this so much i brlieve Im tired of the subject. i need to on a decent soil mix and plant. ’course Im 2 months late but theres always a moment for cherry tomatoes.

I went back and re-read my initial post i gave the dimensions of the raised bed. i should have said ”elevated” . i knew id put dimensions some where

You threw out some numbers then called it 158.26 liters. that shakes out to 42 gallons or 5.6 cu ft . Just ask a nursery for 6 cu ft raised bed mix. Most nurseries sale compost,mulch and soil bulk which is less expensive than bagged.
