okra problem

seed supposedly clemson spineless but ive never had it do this before. plants are the thickest, bushiest okra plants ive ever grown however while stalks are as thick as my wrist the total plant height is waist high. at the leaf junctions where a bloom normally forms im getting nothing but suckers. i let a few grow just to see but same thing on the suckers, more suckers.

ive picked a total of ten pods from a forty foot row, ive cut them all the way back to a main stalk with a few leaves at the top each. still no okra.

odd.

any ideas?
