Methley Plum not bearing fruit

Hello,

We bought a Methley Plum tree from a local tree service called Friends of Trees two winters ago. The first year, it was planted in December, by March it was covered in blossoms, and by June it was covered in sweet little plums. This year, only one tiny little branch had blossoms and the whole tree went straight to leaf, so far it doesn't look like there will be plums this year. It looks healthy, just no blossoms and no fruit. Could this be growing pains? It is supposed to be a self pollinating tree, is it possible it isn't? Should I plant another fruit tree? Any thoughts appreciated.
