I have a planted plum a nice plum tree about 5 feet tall, it has a main trunk and many thin branches come off of it.

i also ordered some stanwick nectarine bud-wood that i want to graft on to it.

problem is the budwood might be thicker than the branches ans i dont want to top the tree to make a rind graft.
