little lantern

Hi,

I am not sure if I really can post a pic here or not, as webshots is the place I have my photos. But I did want to share a little lantern I made with some left overs.

Lightweight mix, of cement, sand and perlite.

That is so cute! Did you put some air vents in the roof to exhaust the carbon dioxide from the candle or will it burn okay without venting? BB

Dena, I like your lantern! How big is it?
Cute little bird (?) sitting on the top. Did you make the rock as well?

Nice use of 'leftovers'.

There is a small vent at the top of the lantern body, in addition to 4 windows that are open.
The lantern is about 13" tall and the body is 7" square, lid is ~13", and the black rounded "rock" base is about 9" round.
The other rock it is sitting on brown/reddish rock is about 6" high, has quite a few crags and nicks in it, and is about 10" square at the bottom. Yes it is a faux rock, has concrete stains instead of paint on it.

Beautiful faux rock! Not sure if I have to make a rock though as I bury truckloads a day sometimes!

Dena, Was looking at your lantern and realized the lid would make a perfect Easter bonnet. Just add a sash of hypertufa soaked ribbon to the brim. NICE rock!

Wow! That's a cute lantern, but I'm so jealous of that rock!!! Do you have more pics of the rock? You know I'm a huge faux rock fan :)
