Because of the caustic nature of the cement, I'm guessing that food coloring would either disappear or become some funky color that you might not want. There are lots of concrete stains that you can use or you can paint over the cured concrete if you want a clear, saturated color for your piece.

i've used several kinds of wood stain , they have nearly ever color imaginable , plus it is so much cheaper than cement stain, i guess it depends on what kind of piece you would be making . if its just a project your making for outdoors in the garden, then this will do. gloss it after if you like that affect. oh i guess i should say do this after its cured.
