WOW! Debbie, this is great! What did you use underneath the wire to make the column/head so uniform? Can't wait to see him standing. Thanks for the pics.

Oh, he is truly great! Did you also make the pots in the back in the first pic? Love them.

Thanks Suzan. I used a concrete form to make a column then I put the face armature on it.

Thanks Phyllis. Yes I did make the square planters too.

    I hope you're having a great weekend

Debbie, That is too cool. Is that sonotube or metal tubing protruding from the bottom? I'm afraid to ask, what do you think he weights? Billie

    It's looking fantastic :o)

I dread to think what it will weigh!!!

Thanks Billie. That's a 8 inch spiral vent pipe core sticking out of the bottom.

Thanks running dog. I think he may weight about 450-500lbs. About 350 litres of dry mix.I have to figure out how to stand him up in his base and secure him.

    Very nice job Debbie!

Too bad you don't have some heavy coasters under that platform! I wonder if you could still roll him? LOL. But otherwise, to me, that looks like the perfect location for him! :)

Thanks Deb. I hope the hubby and son and a couple friends will be able to hoist him up.
I HOPE!!!! I'll keep you posted.

Thanks Lazydaisy. I can't wait to try one of your Heligan ladies.

Wow, that's lookin great! I hope you have help setting it up...sure looks heavy.

I think daybees can safely put him in her front yard, secure in the knowledge that no one, other than the Engineering students from her local college, will attempt to steal it. :)

Debbie, glad to see how he's turned out!!! He's FANTASTIC!!!

Thanks Justin. I hope nobody gets squashed setting it up.

Hi David. I don't think the engineering students would even want him. I should have talked to them before I made him they might know how I can get him upright.

Here the way I would handle it.

A rope sling under the back maybe with a couple poles like boat oars with two people on each side. Be very careful about applying any force or pressure at all on the face over the foam because it will be very easy to crush.
If you have 4 lifters and someone to guide the tube into place you should be OK. Just remember once it is upright it is going to be very difficult to move it without damage. So keep it lying down on it's back until you are ready to tip it into place.

Thanks Tufachick. I hope you are enjoying you're spring.

Thanks David. I'll look for a sling. I'll keep you posted.
