Disposing of disasters?

Assuming I'm not the only one who's had the odd item not turn out, what do you do with your failures? Toss them in the garbage? Send them for crete recycling? Bury them in the 'back 40'?

We're moving this fall and my husband will divorce me if I make him move this stuff! :)

Suggestions?

Drag it to the street put a big FREE sign on it or if you live in a bad neighborhood package it in a box and leave it on your front stoop until someone comes along and steals it.:)

You don't say what type of projects didn't turn out. When I first started casting leaves, I had a few that I didn't have thick enough along the midrib and they split in half. I used them to practice painting on and now they sit, split side down, as an accent in a container. (BTW - Have you considered applying to the govt. for disaster relief?)

Thank you for the honesty of saying that you goofed!!My wife is starting to give me the look as well. You know, the one that says"Any more of this stuff and I'll commit an atrocity around here!".Well, having my share of disasters, bad pours, and some pieces that,in retrospect, were best not done,I came up with a solution that's somewhat like you suggested:That is,bury them. The Tikis(Where was my head when I did those?)I'll turn into steps for the meter reader to get to the meter(up on a pole,up a slope);the other stuff,I'll bury.Lots of faces and stuff. It'll be where future grandkids can go exploring for buried treasure. They find it,they keep it.Then,it's our kids' problem!!
Cheers and back into the studio.

hrp, sadly, this is one of those times it would be GOOD to live in a bad neighbourhood!

fleur, I have a variety of disposables, lantern tops that look the pits, a few 'bowls' that are pretty crappy, mostly just stuff that I'm not satisfied with and wouldn't wish on anyone! (There is one partial mushroom cap that I just can't part with!)

Rick, sounds like a great use for your Tikis, very creative and yes, I suspect that will leave future generations wondering "what the ....??" My other half is very patient & supportive, as long as he doesn't have to schlep this stuff around. Wait 'till I get him moving my troughs! ;)

I think I'll just have to bite the bullet & send this stuff to the dump, as much as that pains me to fill up the landfill with my shortcomings. ~sigh~

Grind them up and recycle? Large hammer to take out frustrations?? I try to use everything for something so far but I haven't been at this really long.

I have been slowly "paving" a hidden part of my yard where I make my mess. When a half bag of concrete goes bad I form up a small area (this means I push some landscape timbers or old boards into a rectangle and brace them with something heavy). I dump disasterous projects into this form and fill over them with concrete. It seems to work fine - not that I recommend the technique for any fancy areas!

Another quick solution would be to make a big pile of disasters just where you would like a fake rock to permanently exist. They would make a great support on which to make a rock.

Rick, I'm afraid if the city (or whatever form of government you have in your area) would have to dig in your property and dig up a bunch of faces...well...nice knowing ya! :)

Have you ever thought of using those to make your own catacomb (well, sorta) wall...based on the underground catacombs of Paris? :)

Here is a link that might be useful: Paris Underground Catacombs

Ah,we live in the Wild West here in Pender Harbour(for those of you who aren't from these parts, grab a map and look about 2 hours north of Vancouver).
I 'disposed"of my facial failures over a small bluff and into a small, tight copse of trees.I know it's a good place because that's where we dumped an old fuel storage tank, and the bush swallowed it up.No pollution worries,as it's been empty for many years(logging and gravel operations were here at on time but, mother nature gave us a very nice property, full of trees). And the tank was a great target for face chucking!!
As to any municipal worries-Nah,not here. We're governed by a district that really tries not to interfere with our way of life. It's so peaceful here that our only crime is drive- by shoutings!!Hah!!!!
    Cheers from here

Well, you know the stories about the deceased old ladies that have dead bodies stored in the attic and those bodies that are buried under the houses of those "quiet" guys...just don't want to see your kind face on the news as a Canadian guy caught throwing faces off a bluff! LOL

Wouldn't that be cool though to mortar those face pieces onto a wall? I'm warped, I know!

Lazydaisy, you're a genius! I've been toying with the idea of making a face or two for my block wall (I have a lot of time for thought while I'm making those !@#$ blocks). How about a grot wall in a shady area of the garden? One could even have some of them spitting water!

I still haven't given up the idea of an Ophelia water feature, which shows how my mind works, too.

Garden Chicken, I don't have any good ideas about what to do about your disasters. How well do you like your husband?
