Mold making video.And,septic tanks

Afternoon!

Well,when it rains,watch videos.In this case,Volumes 1 and 2 from Concrete Success(www.concrete-success.com)about making molds.

After watching both of them(and falling asleep twice!)there is a lot to be said for them.They're packed with info(the narrative and film quality aren't in any way professional!).I want to get into molds for tree trunks,stump tops,rocks,etc and I want these molds to be tough,capable of a LOT of pours.I saw enough in these videos that encourages me to proceed to the next step-making molds.

Up here on the Sunshine Coast,there's money coming in from all over the world.I want some of it!I was considering,besides fountains and faces,making fake rocks for septic tank access camouflage.I know its done elsewhere for hydro boxes and such,so I'm a gonna do itI know there was a post in the last couple of years about their construction,and was wondering if anyone remembers or has a thread ...?

Hi Rick,

I bet there's a good market for those. Are you looking for the mold making thread or the fake rock thread? I'd really like to pick your brain about all the different aspects of making and selling fountains some day. My landlord is starting to show my apartment and a few people have asked how much I wanted for one my fountains. I was really stumped and told them to make me an offer. That's as far as it went...maybe they were afraid to insult me with a price? Justin

Funny,I got the same thing when we had an open house here.I have an older fountain model on display(until I get my new ones ready)and one of the people wanted to know the price.Caught me off guard as well!

I'll be looking into his as well.Where we're located seems to lend itself to treestumps,rocks(after all,we DO live in an old gravel pit!)and the like.To get into some of the more prestigious craft shows(like one called the Filbert Festival,table price something like $1000!)we need to create unique pieces as well.Tango would be a logical choice for other molds,given that he obviously knows our medium!

I saw a site that makes fake rocks to cover up satellite dishes. I thought that was a great idea too. Somehow they work just fine with a cover on them.

Satellite dishes must live on the ground where you are. And point straight up? Here, satellite dishes point south-west, aim at the horizon, and are perched as high as possible on houses (or trees). I was trying to imagine how a fake rock high on the side of a house would be an improvement.

That would look a little funny on top of a house. You could always say it was a meteorite.
