Hi

I have in my front yard an existing small pool about seven feet across, round, shallow basin shaped (kind of like a wok), maybe three feet deep in the center when full. It is old and made of cement and it leaks a little but is basically sound and whole. I wonder if I can just make hypertufa and put a layer of it on the existing cement? I would be trying to make a more waterproof pool but also doing it for aesthetic reasons.

If this is possible, I figure I have about six weeks before hard freeze. So can I do it now? and then will it be OK during this first winter if I cover it well with plastic?

Has anybody done anything like this? I have made lots of small and medium pots successfully but this is a different story!
