I am thinking of doing a three sister garden for the first time next year, but I have a few questions on the varieties of corn, and squash I can grow. I plan on growing a genuine cornfield bean and "Hidatsa Shield Figure" from SSE as the beans.

Can I use pumpkins and melons for the squash? Any negatives, issues or things to look out for if I use those?

Can I grow popcorn for the corn? Any negatives, issues or things to look out for if I use that type of corn? Any recommended varieties?

What are some of the variations that you have tried?
