me: It's not uncommon for trees to bloom a little late in the season. Especially things that don't need much chilling, like your apples, and esp in warm, long season areas. The second bloom can be triggered by a period of heat or water stress that is relieved, say by rain.

Your apple is well known for setting more than one crop or blooming out of season. I'd only be concerned about the plum if it blooms profusely. Even thou you have three months of mild temp I'd be surprised if the plums mature to good quality. I'd remove those if there are a lot. It's fine to leave a few. The apples I'd thin but leave a good load. They should mature fine.

Thank you fruitnut. What you say rings true as the trees that are blooming were moved about a week ago and the pots are now getting shade. Today and tomorrow we expect temps to hit 111Deg F so its still plenty hot here.
