I was just wondering If any zone 8b-10 growers had any information as to if their summer had any effect on precocity. I am pretty certain that it does with with pears I have had both euros and asians grafted on to pyrus calleryana (not a dwarf stock) flower one year after grafting and wanting to fruit. I got to wondering could this be the summer heat? I remeber reading somewhere that heat had something to do with precocity. We gets temps around 95-100 here in summer with lots of rain. I am just starting this with apples all on m111 and wondered if the heat would make them bear any sooner or have any other effects on fruit size or quality.
